It’s that time again! The Pacific NW Sportsman’s Show starts Today (2/15/2023) and runs through Sunday! We would love to see you. You can find us in the Fishing building (Building A). We are going to let you in on a BIG SECRET!! If you start in the “back” with building A, you will have to deal with less people than standing in line at the “front” door and you can get right in. Hope to see you there!
It is hard to believe that the Holidays and the end of 2022 are soon upon us. As I write this, we are less than 2 weeks until Thanksgiving! That’s crazy. It has been a whirlwind year for the Goddard’s. We have been to tons of Gun Shows and Outdoor Sportman’s Shows. From our hometown to Montana, Wyoming, and Nevada. What a year! It makes us truly thankful and grateful for the people we have met and the miles we have traveled across the west. We really do live in a beautiful part of the world.
The Holiday season will be busy, too! Please check out our Coming Events Page to find us and hold your next favorite knife. If you see a knife on our “Sold” pages that makes your heart happy, please feel free to contact us and we will try to get it made and to you before the Holidays.
We are getting ready for the Pacific NW Knife Show. This will be held this weekend (August 6-7, 2022) at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Albany Oregon. We hope you will able to join us for the inaugural event. We know it won’t be as large as the Oregon Knife Show in Eugene, (cancelled for the last 3 years), but it should be a good time and we are looking forward to seeing friends, both knifemakers and collectors, that we have definitely missed.
We are bringing back a few of the models that Wayne made for many years. These include the Pixie, the Little Trapper, and the Georgia Skinner. These are all small blade Every Day Carry knives.
After last year’s wonderful reception in Cody, we decided to stay longer and sell at TWO events. Wow! How Fun! We participated in “Wild West Art Fest” where everything has to be handmade (Not a problem for us!) The crowds were fun. We learned a lot about having an outdoor event (this one was our first).
Cody puts on a parade each day over the weekend….and a SPECTACULAR fireworks show over the town. Wow! It was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Better than the Eugene Pro Rodeo, better than Portland, EVEN better than Disney!
We had a couple of days “off” between the Art Fest and the Winchester Arms Collectors Association Show. So, we went to the Buffalo Bill museum. There are several more museums in town, so we will need to have a few more “down days” to see them all.
A BIG Thank You to all the customers this year. We would love to return next year (depending on the economy and gas prices, etc).
Thank you, Cody. You made us feel welcome and we enjoyed our stay!
It’s time to start thinking and planning for the Pacific NW Sportman’s Show in Portland and right on it’s heels (3 weeks later) will be the Central Oregon Sportsman’s Show. We love these shows. We get to meet so many people, tell them our story, and hear what they would like in a knife!
So why wait? Let us know in the comments below what type of knife YOU are looking to find. Is it a hunting blade? A new knife for the kitchen? An axe? What makes your heart sing? We want to be working on things YOU are excited to see!
We hope you are planning to see us at one of these shows. The times and dates are listed on our Coming Events page!
We will have a booth at the new and improved Portland Holiday Market next week/weekend at the Expo Center. The promoter just sent out an email that gives you a promotion code to be able to buy one entrance ticket and get the second one free. Call your girlfriends, buddies, family and start thinking about attending. We have all been hearing about supply chain issues that might put a damper on Holiday Gift Giving, well here is your chance to get a jump start on your gift purchases and you will be supporting SMALL businesses!
This special ticket offer that is good Thursday, 11/18 and Friday, 11/19 between 2pm and 6pm to buy one ticket, get one free! A savings of $10!
Please understand that you will be charged a service fee per ticket.
It will be an exciting week ahead! We are preparing to attend Blade Show West. Steve is “smurfing up” (cleaning, resharpening, etc) our inventory of knives. I am trying to get everything ready at the house to be gone for a while…along with packing for the show. It is a time of nervous energy. What should we bring? What should we leave at home? This is more than just another show. This is a time to see old friends and make new ones. Along with having a couple of days in the warm Southern California sunshine.
As it says on our Coming Events Page, the show runs Friday and Saturday of this week (10/8 & 9, 2021). We hope you will stop by our table (C12) and say hi. We would love to see you.
We attended the Winchester Arms Collector Club Gun Show & Sale in Cody Wyoming last weekend. What a blast! The people were wonderful and the items displayed were terrific! There were old guns (from the 1800’s), jewelry (new and old), posters, guns with gold inlay, first edition guns (one with serial number 1), custom knives, etc….what a great show.
A special Thank You to all the folks who bought a Goddard knife. You made us feel welcome and included. We will be back again next year!
As I am writing this, we are two DAYS from leaving for the Central Oregon Sportsman’s Show. Our old kitty is basking in the warmth of the sunshine, the birds are singing and Steve is doing final finish on the newest batch of knives!
Things will look a little bit different, but we are all getting used to “different”. They will require masks to be worn, and there will be only advanced ticket sales. So, people will have to plan ahead. But, the knives will still be there and will be able to be touched and held. We have an ultraviolet light to disinfect after each person has held them.
We are excited to see you all at a Sportman’s Show again…..Let the countdown continue!
From our time at shows, we have had an issue come up about every other show…..”But, I’m left handed” or “I want to carry it horizontally”. Hmmm…How can we modify our traditional leather sheaths to make them more universal? Steve has come out with a new design for our sheaths. These will be standard issue on most models going forward.
Now you can carry either vertical or horizontal and on either side of your body. It is even possible to do semi-vertical. Let us know what you think of this new design!
